Let's be honest. We've all been there.

You've got a fresh order of fries. They're hot. They're crispy. You're ready to go.

Then comes the big question:

Where do I put the ketchup?

You can squeeze it onto the fries, which guarantees that the bottom half will become a soggy mess.

You can use a ketchup packet, which somehow manages to shoot ketchup onto your shirt, your car and the person sitting next to you.

Or you can balance a little plastic cup of ketchup on your lap while driving down I-75 and hope Michigan's potholes don't turn lunch into a crime scene.

Well, Heinz thinks they've found a better way.

Meet the Heinz Dipper

Heinz has introduced something called the Heinz Dipper, a French fry box with a built-in ketchup pocket.

The box looks pretty normal at first, but there's a little compartment attached to the side that pulls out and creates a spot for your ketchup.

No packets.

No separate dipping cup.

No trying to hold your fries, burger, drink and ketchup all at the same time.

Just dip and eat.

Honestly, Michigan might be ready for this.

Imagine pulling up to a burger joint in Saginaw, Bay City or Flint and saying:

“I'll take the fries, and make sure the box has the ketchup garage.”

But Don't Expect One at McDonald's

There's a catch.

The Heinz Dipper isn't showing up everywhere. It's currently being rolled out at select restaurants and sports venues in 11 countries, and it's being described largely as a limited promotional stunt.

And no, you won't find it at McDonald's.

In North America, one of the biggest locations getting the special boxes is Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, home of the Maple Leafs.

So if you're willing to drive to Canada for a ketchup-equipped fry box, apparently that's an option.

Although if you're already in Canada, you've got another problem:

You have to explain to the border agent why you drove across the international border for a better French fry container.

“Sir, it was about the dipping sauce.”

“Understandable. Have a nice day.”

For now, the Heinz Dipper is available only while supplies last.

But if this thing catches on, don't be surprised if the next version comes with a built-in ranch compartment.

And that's when Michigan officially becomes unstoppable.
