Mid-Michigan News: Bay City Approves Major Neighborhood Street Project

A major street improvement project is coming to neighborhoods across Bay City.

The Bay City Commission has unanimously approved a proposal to pave 50 neighborhood blocks across all nine wards.

The first-year investment is expected to be around $900,000, including more than $430,000 for equipment and roughly $318,000 in annual costs for three new employees.

Residents could see a proposed list of the streets included in the project early next year, with paving work expected to begin in April 2027.

So, Bay City drivers may want to enjoy those potholes while they can. Their days could be numbered.

Saginaw Transit Changes

Several service changes are now in effect for riders of the Saginaw Transit Authority Regional Services, or STARS.

Routes 2 and 4 have been combined into Route 4, while Routes 3 and 11 have been combined into Route 3.

Officials say the changes are designed to better match bus service with ridership while improving connections to important destinations.

Riders can check the updated maps and schedules at the STARS website.
